Definitely A Keeper: Classroom Friendly Supply Pencil Sharpner

I am writing a review of my super cute, hot pink Classroom Friendly Supply Pencil Sharpener. This pencil sharpener has been a welcome addition to our classroom since the very beginning of the year. At first, I will admit I was a little intimidated when I pulled it out of the box, but once I got it attached to the table and tried it out, I saw what all the hype was about! It gives you a perfect pencil point every time! The kids love the fact that they can get a nice sharp pencil on the first attempt, and I love the fact that it is quiet and easy to clean! The old electric sharpener has almost become obsolete with my fourth graders. We LOVE the pencil sharpener and will be adding a green one to our classroom very soon!

All About Me Math

   

We practiced writing equations today using information that was all about us! This was our first official game of Scoot and it was a blast! 

What A Wonderful First Day Back!!!

We had a fabulous start to a brand new school year! All of us agreed that the day flew by and passed quickly! We even managed to have some fun and tried to get a nice class picture, notice I said TRIED! :) Can't wait for tomorrow!

So exciting to finally meet my new class (and to see a lot of familiar faces)! It appears that we are going to have an awesome school year!

Thanks to a very generous parent our classroom just purchased 9 new books that will serve as mentor texts for our reading and writing workshops. There are so many wonderful children's books out there, these are just a few. I have written a Donors Choose project to possibly purchase more throughout the  year.  I am anxious to get back to school to see which book is your favorite...

These were a great review of the water cycle. We eventually had to take them outside and let the sun do some evaporation before we could see the precipitation. We managed to see some run off on the "mountains" aka as the rocks.

Welcome to Fourth Grade!!!

Welcome to fourth grade! I am so excited to begin a new year with brand new students and brand new activities. We will grow as  a family and treat each other as such. We will also be busy learning lots of new stuff, so please put your thinking caps and listening ears on before you head to class. One of our focuses this year is going to be getting healthy! We will be moving and learning quite a bit, which is proven to help you learn better. So get set and ready to learn!
